It’s Time for Dodger… Zoom Calls!

Dodger Zoom Party Participates

With the postponement of Major League Baseball due to COVID-19, many Dodger fans missed seeing their favorite “boys in blue.” In an attempt to lift the spirits of fans, the Dodgers hosted a Dodger Zoom Party on April 27. In order to participate in the virtual event, fans had to check their emails or social media for the link to RSVP, and only the first 10,000 fans were able to access the Zoom Party information. I was one of the lucky fans who were able to experience the Zoom Party, and participating really brought back fond memories of being at Dodger Stadium.

The Zoom party was hosted by Dodgers Broadcaster, Alanna Rizzo, and featured the appearance of many familiar faces, including current players, Joc Pederson and Justin Turner, Dodger legends, Steve Yeager and Ron Cey, Dodger announcers Joe Davis and Orel Hershiser, Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, and even celebrities, George Lopez and Brad Paisley. The Zoom Party mimicked the Dodger Stadium experience as much as possible, by inviting Dodger Organist, Dieter Ruehle, to perform the National Anthem and “Take me Out to the Ball Game.” The Zoom Party also gave fans a sneak peek of the 2020 Opening Video that is played before each game. Along with Dodger game traditions, Dodger players shared how they are spending their time in quarantine and how much they miss baseball season. The funny and reminiscent conversations that took place during the Zoom call were very special, and I am grateful to the Dodgers Organization for allowing fans to connect with their favorite players and the Dodger community, even while apart.
