Hip – Hop artist, Drake, has made history, yet again, on the Billboard Hot 100.  With his newest song, “Toosie Slide”, it hit the charts fast.  It is a catchy song, with Drake rapping about some dance moves to get people on their feet.  With this song, Drake has become the first male artist to debut three songs at number one on the Hot 100.  The only other artist to have accomplished this is Mariah Carey.  It is Drake’s seventh career number one hit and the thirty-seventh song to debut at number one in history.  With this accomplishment, Drake has tied Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder for the most number one’s on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, as well.

Along with Drake’s “Toosie Slide” coming in at number one on the Hot 100, there were some other notable songs in the top ten.  In order from 2-10, were “Blinding Lights” – The Weeknd, “The Box” – Roddy Rich, “Don’t Start Now” – Dua Lipa, “Life is Good” – Future ft. Drake, “Circles” – Post Malone, “Adore You” – Harry Styles, “Say So” – Doja Cat, “Intentions” – Justin Bieber ft. Quavo, and “Everything I Wanted” – Billie Eillish.  Music, so far in 2020 got off to a hot start.  The collab between Future and Drake, “Life is Good”, started off the year, and got people excited for the new decade.  Not long after that, rapper, Lil Uzi Vert dropped his long-awaited album, Eternal Atake.  Due to the coronavirus, artists are delaying dropping music. Here’s to an interesting rest of the year of music.
