My First Time Baking Cookies From Scratch

My peanut butter cookies from scratch

A few weeks ago, I baked cookies from scratch for the first time. I had baked cookies before, but they were made from pre-prepared box mixes. I had a lot of fun baking cookies from scratch, and it’s something I’ll definitely do again in the future.

I originally wanted to bake the classic chocolate chip cookies, but I didn’t have any chocolate chips. I searched  my kitchen looking for ingredients that I already had. By searching, I found that I actually had a lot of peanut butter. I didn’t want the peanut butter to go to waste, so I decided to bake some delicious peanut butter cookies.

I followed the “Classic Peanut Butter Cookies” recipe by Shirley Sadler from the website Allrecipes -This recipe had over 2,000 reviews. Most of the reviews were positive, so I decided to try it out.

First, I gathered the ingredients. Then I followed the steps to make the cookies. When I was done, I cleaned up the kitchen. I made sure to wipe up any areas on the table that were covered in flour or other ingredients. I then refrigerated the cookie dough overnight in the refrigerator.  I read online that when refrigerated, the cookies will have a better texture and taste.

When I woke up, I was so excited to finally bake the cookies! Before even eating breakfast I rolled the cookie dough into small balls and placed them onto the baking sheet. I baked them on 375 degrees for about 9 minutes. After waiting for 9 minutes, my cookies were finally done baking! I took them out of the oven and let them chill for a bit.

After they were chilled I put them on a plate and ate them with a glass of milk. The cookies were absolutely tasty! The texture was very nice and they weren’t too sweet, which was great. I was very satisfied with how my peanut butter cookies turned out.
