Husky Nation: Alvin So Takes 2nd Place in Badminton CIF Finals

Malik Elali, Editor

Alvin So is a sophomore on our Varsity Badminton Team and took 2nd place in the Badminton CIF Finals for solos. Alvin is a transfer student from Diamond Bar High where he used to play doubles in Badminton with his brother. While attending school together they placed 2nd in the CIF Southern Section. This season; however, Alvin had to adjust to playing singles for the entire season and having to deal with a new school without his brother there to help. Even with all this on his mind, he didn’t let the pressure get to him, placing 4th in the Southern Section for solos. All of this success didn’t just come out of nowhere, because Alvin practices four times a week at various outside centers, and only attending the school practices a couple times a week. He’s been playing badminton ever since he was a little kid, and has been preparing for these competitions since his younger days. All of this success and just a sophomore, under the guidance of Mr. Misawa, and team Captain Vincent Baugh, Alvin is hoping that his hard work will pay off with a championship next season. Congratulations to Alvin So for his amazing success.
