Super Bowl Sunday, February 2, 2020, the 54th Super Bowl commenced.  It was the Kansas City Chiefs versus the San Francisco 49ers. At the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, it was a perfect day for football.  The Chiefs were the favorite according to Las Vegas, being led by quarterback, Patrick Mahomes and head coach, Andy Reid. The 49ers had a strong team as well, with the quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo and head coach, Kyle Shanahan.  The road to this game for both teams was tough and showed just how good they were. The Chiefs had to beat the momentous Tennessee Titans and the Houston Texans. People also tend to forget that Mahomes was out for a few weeks with a wrist injury.  The 49ers had to beat Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, along with the Dalvin Cook led Minnesota Vikings.

It was expected that this game would mostly be focused on the offensive side of the ball, and both teams didn’t disappoint.  On their first drive, the 49ers easily moved downfield and scored a touchdown. When the Chiefs had the ball, the 49ers played lockdown defense, allowing the Chiefs to only score a field goal in the first quarter.  The first half was looking good, with the score being 10-10 at halftime. The halftime entertainment was Shakira and Jennifer Lopez and it brought the house down. It was full of energy, singing, and dancing. The third quarter was looking good for the 49ers, with them scoring 10 more points.  Coming into the fourth quarter with a 10 point lead, Jimmy Garoppolo and company could see a Lombardi trophy in their future. The Chiefs decided to not let that happen. An offense led by Mahomes, scored 21 unanswered points. With a wild 21 point run to finish the game, the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl 31-20.
